We hope your plans are coming together for your big day at The Barn at Botley Hill and the excitement is building. Here’s our six month countdown checklist for you.

6 months to go!
Accommodation – you can use our list of local accommodation to send to your guests with your invites. (www.botleyhillbarn.co.uk/faqs/accommodation-local-hotels)
Have you decided who will be staying in our beautiful shepherd huts? (botleyhillbarn.co.uk/shepherd-hut-accommodation)
Will you be making gift lists? You will need to register with a wedding gift list supplier if you plan to have a gift list, so you can include the links with your invites.
Wedding invites – you may have planned your invites when you purchased your ‘save the date’ cards but, if not, now is the time to start looking so you have them ready to send out at least three months before your wedding day.
Wedding invite tips:
Be sure you add a date you want your guests to RSVP by, so you have time to work out your final numbers for your table plan and to give to your venue and caterers.
Add our local taxi numbers in your invites, so that your guests can book their taxis in advance (Station Cars 0208 660 6000 – Station Cars Oxted 01883 776000 – Oxted Taxis 01883 338027)
Choose your wedding party’s attire and accessories
Plan your honeymoon! You may even want your guests to give you money towards your travels. There are a number of websites where you can set up a honeymoon registry.
If you are having a professional hair and make-up artist, book in a trial.
Meet with officials to discuss plans for your ceremony.
Confirm music for ceremony.
Have you picked readings or songs for your ceremony, and who you would like to do them?
Talk to you caterers about final details.
Wedding rings – are you buying your wedding bands or having them made?
Finalise details with your photographer – even if you choose to have contemporary style wedding photos, make sure you tell your photographer if you have certain friends and family that you want to be photographed with. A list is always helpful!
If you have a DJ or live band for the evening, do you have a play list? Remember, it’s your celebration, so you may want to have a ‘do not play’ list as well!
If you have a live band, you may need to consider a play list for between their sets.
Refine your guess list. Once you have had all your invites back, you can confirm final numbers with venue and caterers. This will allow you to create your table plan.
Buy your guests favours for the tables.
Book your food tasting and finalise your menu and dietary requirements with caterers.
Buy thank you gifts for your wedding party.
Buy a guestbook.
